Handelsbanken has grown into an internationally listed bank with the highest average credit rating worldwide and a local branch network in four home markets. Handelsbanken approached us about mirroring responsibilities for DNS management from legal to IT. The challenge was that they needed more knowledge to streamline transferring responsibility from Handelsbanken’s legal department to their operational IT department.

The registration and project management processes at Handelsbanken were plagued by inefficiency and a lack of clarity, as there was no straightforward registration process defined, no tool available to support the internal registration and management process, and the current way of working took a long time. To solve these issues, we organized interviews and workshops with relevant stakeholders (legal and IT) to determine processes and organizational flow. We reviewed existing and established new governance, domain strategy/principles & procedures. Last but least, we have built a domain management tool based on Jira Service Desk.
Handelsbanken’s benefit from our consultancy assignment is that they have an implemented domain portfolio policy and process. Also, they now have a clearly defined handover of operational responsibility to IT, which results in a much faster request process and fewer errors.
